SPORTFIVE and Sampdoria

For many years now SPORTFIVE and Sampdoria have been cooperating together in a variety of ways in terms of the management of commercial and marketing rights.

The club was founded in 1946 following the fusion of two football clubs: Sampierdarenese and Andrea Doria. Since the 2001/2002 season, the club has been owned by the Garrone family who was involved in the club during the 80s and 90s as the shirt sponsor through the family company, ERG.

Sampdoria’s greatest success to date came in the late 80s and early 90s when it won one Serie A title, one Cup of Cup title, 3 Italian Cups and also reached the Champions League’s final. Today, it is one of the most important Italian clubs, and is just behind the top four teams (Juventus, Milan, Inter and Rome).

Last season the club achieved very good TV visibility results:

  • Dedicated TV spaces in the 2008/2009 season: 2,281
  • TV exposure: 460 hours cumulated on all the most important Italian TV channels (SKY, RAI, MEDIASET, LA7)
